On November 1, 2010 The Meeting Place will be moving to East Ventura. The new address is 4475 Dupont Court, Suite 8. All Meetings and Activities will take place at the new facility beginning Monday, November 1st. As most of you know, this move is necessary because the facility is not taking in enough revenue to sustain the high rent at the current location. No matter how hard society tries, addiction and its related community problems persist. The only reliable way to fight the war on addiction is by helping the addict or alcoholic to recover. When an addict gets clean or an alcoholic gets sober, everybody wins. The Meeting Place provides an environment for addicted people to seek recovery and to fellowship with other recovering people. Recovery at The Meeting Place
Welcome to The Meeting Place, West Ventura County's center for recovery from substance abuse. We are managed by Gold Coast Recovery Center, Inc. (GCRC), a non-profit group dedicated to promoting recovery in Ventura County. The Meeting Place provides low-cost meeting facilities for 12 Step and other recovery-oriented groups. We also provide a safe and positive environment for recovering people to meet, hang out, and work on their recovery. We are the alternative to bars and street corners for newly recovering people. Community Sponsorship Plans
We have seen literally hundreds of addicted people come to The Meeting Place and find help. And, of those that don’t find recovery the first or second time they come to our facility, many eventually return and begin their journey to a new life. The Meeting Place is like a beacon of hope in downtown Ventura. It stands ready to receive and assist all who want to find freedom from substance abuse. Recovery Meeting Schedule
The Meeting Place currently hosts over twenty-five 12-Step meetings monthly, as well as various service committees for Ventura County recovery fellowships. Recovering people, or people seeking recovery, are welcome to attend any and all meetings at the facility. You are also welcome to start your own recovery meetings at The Meeting Place. The Meeting Place is a non-profit facility supported by the recovering community and the community at large.
